Integrating renewable generation at scale.

Toyota Motor Corporation Australia set out to build a major rooftop solar plant at its Altona site – a 3.5 MWp plant on the TPCV building, later expanded by a further 1 MWp. We provided the client-side project management, technical advisory and grid-connection support to deliver both stages across a live, operating site. Our role extended well beyond the new plant: we specified a site-wide power plant controller to interface with the network operator and negotiated the generator performance standards for all of Toyota's on-site generation, unifying the assets under a single modern control and compliance regime.

Services provided

  • Project management
  • Technical advisory and review
  • Grid connection & GPS compliance
  • Commissioning oversight

Outcome

Beyond the solar plant itself, AND Network delivered the site’s grid-compliance backbone by specifying a power plant controller and negotiating generator performance standards with the network operator for every generating asset on site – not only the new plant. The team also resolved demanding rooftop structural and logistics constraints, integrated new generation into ageing substations, and supported a contractor new to Toyota in meeting the site’s standards.
